Special Oatmeal Cookies
I am adding this recipe especially for one
of my relatives on my Daddy's side of the
family, cousin Thelma. She wanted it
this past Christmas and I just couldn't find
it any where to give it to her. I found
it yesterday in a pile of others in a box
where I keep some recipes. Pathetic
isn't it? It is so much better to put
them on the web site and on the computer.
Maybe Thelma can make them this Christmas!
They are delicious!
Buttery Jam Tarts
These are wonderful tarts! This
recipe comes from Sharon Thompson. She
made them for a Bible class that we had at
church as a treat for after class. What
a treat they were! I had to have the
recipe. If you haven't guessed by now,
our church is full of wonderful cooks.
Pie Cookies
Sometimes when I make a lot of pies or a
pot pie I have leftover pie dough, I use it to
make cookies. My dear mother in law
taught me this neat little trick. She
just called them pie cookies and my kids
always loved them. You just pop them in your
mouth and they practically melt.
Old Fashioned Peanut butter Cookies
These old fashioned cookies are a hit with
most anyone. My good friend and studio
buddy, Dennis Moore loves them to pieces!
They are nice and chewy inside like you want a
cookie to be. Kids of all ages love
them!
Snickerdoodles
Speaking of cookies, these are my Joshua's
favorite cookie and the kids at church love
them too. They are chewy, gooey cookies
that always taste like you want more! My
Husband, Phil loves them too.
Christmas Church Cookies
These cookies got their name from my kids
when they were young. They look fancy
and I always made them around Christmas time
for church socials and to give away as gifts
to friends. Since I was always carrying
them to church the kids just called them
"Church Cookies". I make them
for my special friend Linda Love Clark at
Christmas time and because they are a spritz
cookie and so light, they are also my sister
Ute's favorite.
Marzipan Candy Balls
Being German, we all grew up with wonderful
marzipan candy. I remember when my
Mother bought a huge marzipan pig for my Dad
one Christmas. Everyday he would cut off
a section of the pig and share it with all of
us. I found this recipe for marzipan
that is so simple. I made home made
candies as gifts one year for Christmas and
this one was my favorite.
Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups
This recipe is also very easy and makes a
lovely gift idea. Who wouldn't like to
receive a jar full of chocolate peanut butter
cups? Not me!
Chocolate Fondue and Dip
Speaking of chocolate, here is my recipe
for fondue and dip for fruit. This is
always a hit at any party or buffet. I
like to make a platter of all kinds of fruit
and different cake squares to dip into this
luscious chocolate dip. Great one for
baby showers and bridal showers, too.
Pecan Dreams
This recipe comes from Nellie Fadeley.
Nellie was a great cook and a wonderful
friend. She's with the Lord now and
sorely missed but her daughter Joyce gave me
this recipe to share with all of you.
Nellie made these cookies often for church and
around Christmas time. They are crunchy
and sort of melt in your mouth all at the same
time. Very easy to make and great as
gifts.
Black Bottoms
I forget who gave me this recipe but, I
love it and it is so delicious. I make
them in my mini muffin pan so they are bite
size and easy to just pop in your mouth.
This recipe is also a nice gift to give at
Christmas time in a nice tin or box. I
also make Pecan Tassies in my mini pan.
That recipe follows this one.
Pecan Tassies
Here's another fine recipe that makes a
nice gift. I like to mix these up with
the Black Bottoms in a tin at Christmas for
variety. These also go nice at showers and
parties and any time you need finger food.
They are so delicious and easy!
Peanut Brittle
Alright, let's have some fun making old
fashioned peanut brittle! Now here is
another fine recipe that can be put in
decorative jars or tins and used as gifts at
Christmas time and any time! This is a
fun recipe to do with your children. Who
wouldn't want to receive a batch of peanut
brittle?
Caramel Lace Chocolate Chip Cookies
If you like chewy, gooey cookies then this
recipe is for you! It is the best cookie
I've ever tasted! I just love these
cookies. Not only do they taste so good
but they look so lacy and nice as well.
They are not too hard so give them a try.
You won't be sorry!
Cocoanut
Macaroons
This is a favorite of my husband Phil's.
It's a pretty simple recipe and takes very
little effort. These cookies are chewy
and gooey and very moist. I like to make
them when I have parties or special occasions.
Lemon Pecan Cookies
This is a wonderfully different cookie.
Two of my favorite flavors combined into one
great taste. Who wouldn't love these
little morsels? They are a cinch to make
and taste so good! Give them a try!
Cherry Cheese Bars
These bars are wonderful and taste like
cheese cake with a crunch to it. If you
like cheese cake then you will love these easy
bar cookies. A great little dessert to
take any where or just enjoy at home.
Salted Peanut Chews
Here is another fine recipe for a bar type
cookie that is so good. Kids love this
recipe cause it is so full of peanut taste and
the marshmallow center is fun. Give it a
try.
Swedish Rosettes
This delightful little cookie requires a
Rosette tool. They go real quick once
you get started and they are so delicious and
fun. This recipe makes about 6 dozen.
Five Minute Fudge
This is the easiest recipe ever and tastes
so good! If candy making gets any easier
than this, then children will be the next
stars on the food channel on TV and not
adults! I add a few spoonfuls of peanut
butter and nuts and it blows me away! It
just doesn't get any easier than this, folks.
Have fun making this one!
Golden Apple Raison Cheesecake Bars
Here is another fine bar cookie recipe that
reminds me of French apple pie when you first
eat it. It is easy enough to make, so
give it a try and you won't be sorry.
Great for parties and get-togethers. A
bit of work but worth it.
Patty Cake's Italian Biscotti
This wonderful recipe comes from one of my
dearest friends whom I call Patty Cakes.
The first time we met she was bringing these
lovely biscotti's to my friend David Reed's
birthday party and the name Patty Cakes just
kind of stuck to her. This is one of the
easiest biscotti recipes I've ever tried.
I think you will agree when you try them.
They do make a nice gift.
