Easter Ham

There is nothing better than a juicy melt in your mouth ham at Easter time.  This recipe is so simple anyone can do it.  My German Uncle Heinz, who is a butcher by trade, taught me that adding ginger ale to a ham somehow seals in all the juices and adds an incredible flavor to the ham.  He was so right and I am so thankful for his good advise.

Cheesy Beef and Macaroni Supper

Here's a great little recipe for when you are in a hurry and only have 1/2 hour or less to make a meal for your family.  It is something I invented once because I had so little time to cook and my son Bill loved it so much that it has been a repeat in my family for many, many years now.  It has a mild comfort food kind of taste that most kids will enjoy including the "big kid", my husband Phil!

Wrapped Chicken

This recipe comes from Linda Gauger and is always good for a company meal especially when the group is a large one.  It is one of those stick it in the oven and forget it recipes that are easy as pie.   I like to serve it here at home with buttered pasta.  Love it!

Stuffed Pork Loin with Apple Sauce

This is my own recipe and a favorite for when company comes.  It is tender and juicy and the apple sauce compliments the pork very well.  It has become my husbands favorite dish.  It is not all that hard to make and I'm sure you will enjoy it once you've tried it!  I made it this Easter, 2005, when my daughter came home to visit and she loved it!

Fast Family Chicken Fajitas

This recipe is great for when you are in a hurry and need to make dinner fast and fun.  It uses ingredients you would normally have around the house anyway.  It will feed six or double it for a crowd.  Good at lunch time as well.

Simple Beef Stroganoff

Here a quick and easy recipe for dinner especially if you are in a hurry. And, who isn't these days?  You can make it with sirloin beef strips, chicken breast strips, or even with ground beef.  I like the beef best.  Serve it over hot buttered egg noodles with a leafy salad and a loaf of French bread and you have dinner!

Golden Noodle and Sausage Bake

Here is another good recipe that is hearty and quick and easy to make.  Your family will love it!  Serve it with a salad and biscuits and you've got dinner ready in 1/2 an hour!

Leftover Skillet Supper

My Mom had a way with leftovers!  She could throw almost anything together and make it taste good.  This is one of my favorites that she used to throw together and we all loved it.

Beefy Bean Burgers

This is a nice version of something else you can do with ground beef in a hurry besides Sloppy Joes.  It is one of my husbands favorite sandwiches for lunch and very easy to make.

Shredded Barbecued Beef

This recipe will feed a crowd of people and is oh so good.  It also comes from the kitchen of Ruby McGlothlin.  A great meal for a bunch of hungry teenagers or men.  I cut the recipe in to half as much for my small family. Thanks Ruby for another fine recipe!

Stuffed Cabbage Rolls

I have been making these for a long time now.  They are best in the summer when you can get local home grown cabbage because the flavor is even more intense.  The cabbage rolls also freeze very well and when I make them I usually make a large batch and freeze some.  They are great for buffet style dinners as a side, also.

Beef Burgundy

Here is an old standard recipe that is always great for when company comes.  It is fairly easy and yet it is so special at the same time.  I like to serve it with buttered egg noodles or rice.

Basic Meat Loaf

This is my simple but juicy and tasty recipe for meat loaf.  It comes from my Mother with a few embellishments of my own added to the recipe.  I serve it with mashed potatoes and gravy and what ever vegetable I like.  Always a hit with a meat and potatoes kind of man like my husband Phil.

Meat Log Stew

This is a recipe that I invented when I wanted to make beef stew and didn't have anything but ground chuck.  It turned out to be quite a favorite of my family.  My friend Jeanie Mullins loves it and couldn't wait for me to add it to my list so she could make it.  Hearty and great tasting.

Hunter Chicken

I love this dish!  It is so easy to prepare and gives the chicken breasts a different taste.  I like to serve it with buttered noodles or boiled red potatoes in a parsley butter sauce with a side of snow peas or California blend.  A delicious and nutritious meal in less than 1/2 an hour.

German Beef Roulladen ( Beef Roll Ups)

This is a recipe that comes from my Mother.  I have embellished it slightly to suit my taste with added mushrooms, but it is pretty authentic.  We used to have Roulladen for Christmas dinner because it was such a special treat.  I fixed Roulladen for our family Christmas Eve reunion this past Christmas (2004) and it was a big hit with my family of about 30 people.

Wiener Schnitzel

This recipe comes from my Mother.   It is still a big favorite in my family.  You can use veal but Mom always used pork because it was less expensive and some how the pork is some what more juicy than the veal.  I like either one.  Served with a wedge of lemon and buttered egg noodles.  What could be better than this?

Jager Schnitzel (Hunter Style)

This is also a wonderful recipe for Schnitzel in a Hunter Style, with a brown gravy and mushroom and wine sauce that is just fabulous!  Delicious and very different from the Normal way of serving Schnitzel.  Also great served with buttered egg noodles or potato dumplings.

Paprikaschnitzel (Hungarian Style)

This recipe is for a Hungarian Style Schnitzel.  It is also very delicious and has yet another kind of taste that is very different.  I like to use Vidalia onions with this one because they are so sweet.  This schnitzel reminds me of Hungarian Goulash but better!  Served over, you guessed it, buttered egg noodles!

Stuffed Green Peppers

This recipe is one of my husbands favorites and is so easy to prepare.  I love using fresh green peppers, the home grown kind, that I can get in the summer.  They have a more intense flavor.  This is a great treat for dinner, anytime.

Old Fashioned Chicken Pot Pie

This recipe comes from my mother in law Virginia Lutz and is so delicious!  It's just plain good old southern cooking at it's best.  She never used vegetables in hers but I added them to mine to make it even better and more wholesome.  It is my husbands all time favorite besides chicken and dumplings.

Chicken and Dumplings

This is my husbands most favorite recipe of all.  I fix this for him at least once or twice a month.  He can't seem to get enough of it.  It really is not that hard when you use Bisquick, so give it a try!

Lemon-Pepper Chicken Sauté

Here is a quick recipe for chicken breasts that is so easy to make.  You will love the mild flavor and it is good served over rice with your favorite crusty bread and a nice fresh salad.  Most every one likes chicken.

Sandwich Supper Wraps

There are times when it's just too hot outside or when you just don't feel like cooking and you need something good, but also something quick and easy for supper.  Have you ever tried sandwich wraps?  Here are a few of my favorite wraps that are good any old time.

Gyoza

This wonderful recipe for Japanese Won Tons comes from my good friend Akiko Quinn.  Akiko gave the Fellowship team of my church a demonstration of how to make these and then we feasted on them.  You just can't eat just one!  They are the best won tons I have ever tasted!!  I'm going to see if we can add Akiko's recipe for fried rice also.  You have got to try these they are wonderful and not much work either.

Broccoli Cheddar Chicken

This recipe comes from my nephews wife Tina Leonard and it is so simple yet, hearty and delicious.  There are so many ways to use chicken breasts and that is healthy eating, if you ask me.  Served with a crisp salad on the side and some applesauce and you've got a meal with not too much fussing.  Give it a try and you won't be sorry you did.

Chicken Bundles

This recipe comes from Linda Gauger's Aunt Eleanore.  She brought them to me when I was sick and needed help.  Our church family is so loving that when ever any one is sick we do dinner for them for a while till they are stronger.  Anyway these lovely bundles are so light they are just right for anytime.  I fell in love with them at first bite.

  Easy Chili Muffins

You will turn an ordinary lunch time into something special with these Easy Chili muffins from my good friend and Christian author Tina Ray.  She says to add a fresh salad and dinner is served!  Thank you Tina for an "easy as Pie" recipe that is sure to be a winner especially on those cold rainy days when you just need something warm to eat.

Sausage Gravy

This recipe is so simple that I thought it was hardly worth it to put it on my recipe page yet my son Bill struggled to make it a few weeks ago and messed it up in trying, that I thought I had better add it, if not for anyone else, then just for him.  An old southern favorite of my Father's.

Moms' Award Winning Chili

My Mother won a lot of contests with her special chili recipe.  Here it is and who wouldn't love a hot bowl of chili on a cold winter night?  I like to serve mine with a small cast iron skillet of home-made corn bread piping hot from the oven, Yum!

Creamy Chicken Rice

This recipe comes from my good friend Nellie Fadeley.  Nellie was a great cook and always shared her best recipes with anyone that wanted them.  This is a rich tasting and very easy to make recipe and it's great when you are cooking for a crowd.

Southern Fried Chicken

My Mom always made the best fried chicken.  Every Sunday afternoon she would fry chicken and make her wonderful red cabbage and the aroma would fill the house and you could probably smell it clear down the street.  We had a large family and chicken was an inexpensive meal in our house yet always a delicious one so you could count on fried chicken every Sunday with out fail.  I still fry chicken Mom’s way but not especially on Sundays.  Give it a try it is simple and so scrumptious.

Salad Sandwiches

I never dreamed anyone would ask me for a simple recipe like a salad sandwich but it did happen.  I made some sandwiches for our Vacation Bible School this year and they were well liked and I promised to put the recipe on the internet.  So here's a good one for when you are really in a hurry and a bowl of soup goes well with each one.  I have tuna salad, egg salad and chicken salad for those of you who need it.

Chicken Tetrazini

This quick and easy recipe comes from my friend Ronda McMullen who also sings with me from time to time.  She’s also a pretty good cook.  It’s always nice to try somebody else’s meal for a change and you can pick up a lot of nice recipes that way.

Poppy Seed Chicken

This lovely and also easy recipe comes from one of the younger lady cooks in my church, Lora Biddle.  It’s not too hard to make and takes not too much of your time yet is very impressive even when serving to company.
