Puppy
Chow
This is a great little snack that comes
from one of my best friends Nellie Fadeley.
She used to make it for the adults to munch on
as well as the children at Vacation Bible
School. It's also a great after school snack
for kids and kids parties.
Glazed
Pecans
My sister in law, Wilma and my son Bill
love the daylights out of this simple yet
delicious snack and I find myself making it as
gifts for a lot of people. It comes from my
dear friend Nellie Fadeley.
Mocha
Coffee Mix and Chai Tea Latte Mix
Here are two lovely recipes to spice up
your cold wet days. These recipes come
from my sister Karen and are great to make and
give as gifts to friends for Christmas or
anytime you need a little something special.
Put in any air tight container with the recipe
card attached. Decorative tins and glass
jars are especially nice, or place in a
cellophane bag with a twisty and a bow.
What a nice treat for someone special!
Thanks Karen!
Carob
Cornered Crunchies
This recipe also comes from my sister Karen
and it is for dogs. She made these for
Christmas for a few friends that have dogs.
I have a Schnauzer named Scooby-Do and a
Snoodle named Scruffy who just loved the
treats because they like chocolate. We know
that chocolate is not good for them so the
carob worked out great. Easy to make and
give away.
Pooch
Peanut Butter Swirls
Here is another fine dog treat recipe from
sister Karen. Dogs love peanut butter
just as much as we humans do so why not treat
your pet to something wholesome for him?
He will love you for it! Thanks Karen!
Dessert
Crepes
Here is a simple crepe recipe for almost
any occasion. My daughter called
yesterday and asked me for the recipe so she
could make them for breakfast. I always
filled them with preserves and rolled them up
for her and Bill when they were kids and they
just loved them. Well here it is,
Melissa, now go and make breakfast!
Zwetschgenmus
(Plum Butter)
This wonderful recipe for plum butter has
been in my family for years. I had to
rummage all over the house to find it and
finally did in a batch of old papers from my
Dad. Joe Stertz from Canada asked for it
and I hope he has good success with it.
My sister Ellen is getting ready to cook a
batch today for our family. The flavor
is outstanding and there is really nothing
like it on breads and rolls and it is even
good in pastry. I am experimenting this
year with it to see if I can come up with a
good yeast dough recipe for it. Anyway,
enjoy and happy canning!
