Grandma Lutz’s Tomato Beef Vegetable Soup

This wonderful Beef soup is a favorite at my church and in my family. It comes from my dear Mother in law, Virginia Lutz and is absolutely the best I've ever tasted. Pop Cronshaw, Gary Thompson and a list of others have put it on the top of their list of favorites. I remember making a huge amount for the men at our church for a work day lunch and they all loved it and ranted and raved! It is my honor to share it with you; and, did I mention it goes great with Linda Gauger's hot rolls?

Bean Soup

Here's a hearty soup for a cold day to warm you from the inside out.  It is delicious, fast and very easy to make.  I like to serve this soup with homemade corn bread and throw in a pie for desert.  You'll have a wonderful meal!

Moni's Potato Soup

This recipe is my own invention and is better than any I've tasted else where.  This is a great recipe for the winter time when it's cold out side and you need something hearty to warm your insides.  It is a family favorite and I know you'll enjoy it.  I have served it at buffet dinner parties in a large crock pot as a part of the meal.  It's that comfort food thing that everyone loves.

German Cabbage Soup

My Mother made this soup a lot when we were growing up.  My Dad loved it and so did all of us kids.  It is actually not too fattening and very healthy and good for you.  You will need a German ingredient called Maggi.  Give it a try and see what you think.

Carrot Soup with Thyme and Fennel

This delicious and different soup recipe comes from my good friend Pam Osteria.  It is a great soup to serve special guests.  Rich and yet so different in taste.  This is adult food and not something yours kids will be crazy over.  I like it because it is so different.

Home-made Chicken Noodle Soup

I just made this soup for lunch at a marriage seminar at our church and it went over so well.  Now everyone wants the recipe so I decided to add it to my collection.  It is mildly flavored and feels like real good "comfort food" and  kids really like it as well.  It's not real hard, just a little time consuming.  Chicken soup is "good for what ails you".  When my kids were sick that is all they ever asked for.  For what it's worth, chicken soup has been proven to have healing qualities in it.  I have prayed over many a pot of soup as it is delivered from my house to someone who is ill.

German-style Split Pea Soup

My mother often made this soup for us as we were growing up.  It didn't always have a lot of ham in it but it still tasted great to us kids.  Now I make sure there is plenty of ham in it and it always takes me back to when Momma used to make it.  It just tastes like home to me.  Still miss my Mother very much and all the wonderful good advise she gave me.

Asparagus Soup

This lovely and delicious soup comes from my Pastor's wife and good friend Linda Gauger.  She recently sent some over with a loaf of home-made French bread when I was ill and it was just delicious.  Reminds me a little of split pea soup.  Give it a try and you won't be sorry.
